HAZWOPER & Emergency Response Training

Response training for the teams who will be first to a release, taught by people who staff standby rescue and run live drills.

Overview

STC teaches the OSHA hazardous waste operations and emergency response standard from awareness level through operations and technician refreshers. Classes use hands-on props, including leaking valve and pipe manifolds and full PPE dress-out.

The same instructors build incident command exercises with your site, and can bring in local fire, EMS and law enforcement so the plan is tested before it is needed.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Which HAZWOPER course do my employees need?

It depends on their role. Employees who might discover a release need awareness level. Those who respond to contain it need operations-level training, and technicians need an annual 8-hour refresher. STC can review your roles and recommend the right level.

Do you offer the 40-hour HAZWOPER course?

STC currently lists 24-hour operations, 8-hour refresher and awareness courses. Call to discuss 40-hour needs for hazardous waste site workers.

Can you run a drill with our local fire department?

Yes. STC builds incident command exercises that can involve local law enforcement, fire and EMS, tailored to your industry and location.
